The Board of Directors of the Círculo de Empresarios, at the proposal of its Nominations Committee, has unanimously appointed its vice president Juan María Nin Génova as the future president of this business association.

This appointment will take effect on March 19, 2024, the date on which the term of the current president, Manuel Pérez-Sala, who has been presiding over the

Circle for the last three years. Juan María Nin Génova (Barcelona, ??1953) is a lawyer-economist from the University of Deusto and a Master in Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.

According to a statement from the Círculo de Empresarios, “Nin is deeply knowledgeable in the world of business management, finance, energy and international economic policy and has experience in both the public and private sectors.” The center of his professional career has been the banking sector, being one of the architects of the merger processes of the most important banks and savings banks in the country. He has been vice president and CEO of La Caixa, Criteria and Fundación Caixa (June 2007-July 2014), CEO of Banco Sabadell (2002-2007) and general director of Banco Santander until 2002.

He has also been involved in the energy business as a member of the Boards of Directors of Cepsa, Repsol and Gas Natural, among other companies. Until very recently he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Société Generale and is currently president of Itínere Infraestructuras, Hábitat, Morabanc and ITP Aero.
