Sixteen puppies were abandoned on Monday night at the door of the home of Óscar Lobo, a resident of Lleida in the Sant Just district. His house is next to the premises of the Protectora d’Animals Lydia Argilés.

Óscar Lobo called the Guardia Urbana. The agents picked up the puppies, contacted the protector and took them to the vet from where they were transferred to the Lleida Company Animal Reception Center El Refugi dels Peluts.

The protector has denounced on social networks the abandonment of the puppies, which could have been three days old and it is unknown if they are all from the same mother.

Its founder, Lydia Argilés, says that the Urban Police suggested that she keep the animals. “I didn’t keep them because I was alone and couldn’t bottle-feed everyone, which was what they needed.”

“The abandonment of these puppies is intolerable, from the shelters we ask that the dogs be sterilized. “If Oscar hadn’t arrived, the dogs would have died,” she says.
