Autumn within the meander of the Fluvià river, in Les Preses, Vall d’en Bas, in the Garrotxa region, with dry leaves instead of water. They are beautiful images in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia, but, at the same time, sad, since they are the result of the extreme drought.

The Fluvià River originates in Falgars d’en Bas and flows into Sant Pere Pescador, after traveling 70 kilometers through the regions of Garrotxa and Alt Empordà in the Mediterranean Sea.

The autumn landscape within the river full of leaves reveals the extreme drought that much of Catalonia is going through. A small and beautiful meander, now a sad river.

The low water flow is a reflection of the lack of rain. This is also especially noticeable in the streams and streams that flow into the Fluvià and which, in some cases, are completely dry.

The Vall d’en Bas is surrounded by mountain ranges and rugged ridges such as those of Cabrera dels Llancers, Freixaneda or El Puigsacalm, as well as meadows and forests of beech, oak and oak trees.
