The magical universe, which in English even has registered rights as Wizarding World, arrives at Port Vell in Barcelona, ??where a large structure of 2,275 m² has been set up to recreate it. Visitors will be able to enter some of the settings of the eight films based on the seven books by J.K. Rowling, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and developing further with the recent Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secret, but also including the London musical Harry Potter and the Cursed Legacy or the video games that have been derived from this universe
This is an immersive exhibition produced by Imagine Exhibitions and Warner Bros., the largest ever held here, and is designed for audiences of all ages, but especially fans who have grown up with the adventures of young magician The show is traveling, and so far it has been seen by 1.7 million people since it opened in 2022 in Philadelphia, later it went to New York, where it is still, while a parallel show, from comes the Barcelona one, it closed a few weeks ago in Paris, where it exceeded half a million visitors.
In addition to the scenarios and interactive games, you can see numerous elements that have been used in the films, among which stand out items of clothing, accompanied by texts about their creation and the participation of the actors who they lasted, such as the robe that Alan Rickman wore as Severus Snape, and that he himself asked the designer Judianna Makovsky to have tight sleeves and lots of buttons, to imply that his character “lives within certain limits very tight”, to the point that he is the only one whose clothes do not evolve in the entire series of films.
Before entering, visitors receive an interactive wristband with which they must create a digital profile with the residence of the Hogwarts school in which they wish to enroll: Gryffindor – courage – Ravenclaw – wit and intellect – Huffelpuff – ability of work and loyalty – or Slytherin – cunning and ambition – and choose your favorite wand and the animal of your Patronus spell. Along the route you can cast spells that will add points to each house.
Then, past the armored chamber where there are first editions of the book, you enter a room with the Map of Magatotis and the names of the visitors moving through the rooms of the castle, and further on you enter the residences of the school, the great hall where the students eat, the greenhouse, potions rooms, divination or defense of the dark arts. Further on there is the forbidden forest and you can enter Hagrid’s cabin or play quidditch, the sport of wizards and witches. You can even go into Harry’s room, under the stairs of his uncles house in Privet Street. All full of corners where you can relive the best scenes and take pictures to share.
