Bershka has launched a new collaboration with Ssstufff fusing the creativity of both brands in a new capsule collection that could be just that, a new collaboration, but it is much more. Because Ssstufff, with three s and three ts (it is the nod to the three creators of the brand that now, things in life, have become two) is a young and very graceful brand. With a very recognizable vibe. Fun and different.
The collective behind Ssstufff founded by Jepi and Ho began, they say, “as a group of young creatives fed up with the current commercial offer in our native Barcelona and beyond with the desire to brighten up the boring consumerist world in which they reside.” . They quickly began to put their minds together to create products that offered much more than just an item to wear, but a truly functional and exciting experience. Ssstufff, they say, “doesn’t just limit this way of thinking to the product. It makes sure that the experience from the initial marketing to the virtual and physical action of purchasing the product leads to a more artistic and experiential experience.”
Now this former trio and now creative duo formed in Barcelona (Ho and Jepi met in a second-hand “shoes” store that they in turn resold until one day, shortly before the pandemic, they added a series of creative gadgets own that were more successful than the sneakers themselves) has presented with Bershka 34 garments that cannot leave anyone indifferent following their own style and their Asian supermarket narrative, but they have been able to go a little further. With the firm that accompanies them in this new adventure, they have been able to access slightly more sophisticated clothing and accessories. With a plus in terms of preparation and materials.
Thus, in this collection that Bershka presents faithful to its style (they have built a mini 24-hour Asian store in the selected stores to find the pure Ssstufff style) the Barcelona native insists on its unique narrative and the atmosphere of daily shopping, adding graphics recognizable by everyone as offers and branding that refers to detergents, frozen foods or drinks. The fabrics used in the collection are nylon, plush, mesh, knit and denim with a shiny effect. The objective of the garments is, beyond simple functionality, to tell a story and offer a different experience.
Available from November 9 through the Bershka online store and in its physical stores, he adds, say Claudio (who after studying fashion in New York is still there to promote the brand) and Jepi (a Barcelonan proud of being “made in China” as he has tattooed on his right forearm) a nod to one of his most fervent followers. It’s Teresita, the neighbor on Duc Street (in Barcelona’s Gòtic, the same street where the shoe store is where this success story that is Ssstufff began), who once challenged them to make a pair of underwear inspired by Chinese cookies. Lucky. Well there she is. It comes packaged like that, like a fortune cookie, and which one you get can be read on the rubber of the brief.
It’s all fun. Everything is thought out and arrives with the intention of being interactive (you can tell that they are from Gerónimo Stilton’s generation: the fruits screen printed on one of the most applauded t-shirts respond with the smell that corresponds to them when rubbed) and it triumphs. The Ssstufff are one of the most anticipated guests at the Scrap World in Chanmartín and now, right now, at the Complex Con in Los Angeles.
