Dex Carvey, the eldest son of Dana Carvey, the comedian known for his participation in The Saturday Night Show and Wayne’s World, has died at the age of 32 due to a drug overdose.

“Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose,” confirmed the American actor on his X account, in a message signed by his two parents.

His parents have only had words of praise for Dex: “He contributed many things in those 32 years. He was very talented in many things (music, art, filmmaking, comedy) and he dedicated himself to all of them with passion.”

Carvey highlighted his son’s vitality, which helped him value and love “life even more.” “He made everything fun. But, most of all, he loved his family: his friends and his girlfriend, Kaylee,” the comedian continues. And they assure that he will miss him every day.

Furthermore, the young man’s family wanted to show solidarity with all those who have a problem with addictions, of any kind. “Anyone who is struggling with addiction or who loves someone who is struggling with addiction, we carry you in our hearts and prayers,” they conclude.
