More and more urban dwellers agree that greener, less polluting options are needed for getting around cities. Although each specific circumstance leads users to consider the use of two, three or four-wheeled alternatives, the truth is that electrification is beginning to play a relevant role in this field.

It should be noted that the electric bicycle industry has experienced a boom in recent years, which has caused the choice to multiply. Among all these options, folding electric bikes are an interesting way to achieve more efficient travel with the practicality offered by a vehicle with compact dimensions that takes up little space when stored.

One of the most recently created brands in the segment is PVY, whose goal since its inception has been to offer features of mid-level or even mid-high level products at affordable prices. And, faced with competition as extensive as that which exists today in this area, the firm has focused on providing a great quality-price balance.

The latest addition to the manufacturer’s range is called S2 and, like other previous models, it also meets the aforementioned particularity between qualities and relevant expenditure. This new electric bike is distinguished by great comfort, designed to offer notable results in urban areas regardless of the type of road surface. In addition, it offers a simple two-stage folding system.

Among the equipment of the S2 are a suspension system front and rear, as well as a lightweight frame with a striking top tube of considerable size and which has a handle to lift the vehicle more easily when necessary. On the other hand, it has 16-inch wheels.

One of the details that should be highlighted is that it has a rear shock absorber, a very unusual feature for this segment, especially considering the price of the vehicle. Regarding electrical assistance, the bike integrates a 250 W motor that offers a maximum torque of 37 Nm.

A 36 V and 7.5 Ah battery is responsible for powering the motor and providing an electric range of 60 kilometers. The equipment list also includes disc brakes, as well as an electronically controlled headlight and brake light. The bicycle is single speed and, according to the manufacturer, can climb slopes of up to 12 degrees.

Likewise, the S2 stands out for its smooth running even on very irregular surfaces. PVY’s affordable philosophy has made the price of its new model only 549 euros, a figure that is below most of its rivals of a similar level.
