A week ago news broke that worried many: Father Ángel had to be admitted to a hospital in Madrid after suffering a gastrointestinal problem. This hospitalization was given as a “preventive measure to guarantee his well-being and speedy recovery,” since there was concern about how he could evolve at 86 years old, as reported by El Español.

Something unexpected caused him to not be able to officially attend the funeral mass of Fernando Fernández Tapias, organized by his widow, Nuria González, and which was marked by a tense calm. The priest has always been very close to the family, given his good friendship with the businessman, so it is not surprising that he was saddened by not being able to attend.

“From Messengers of Peace we can now communicate that Father Ángel has officially been discharged,” they revealed in a statement. “He is very grateful for the extraordinary care and support provided by the medical team and for all the expressions of affection and solidarity received during my stay in the hospital,” they added.

And it was a few days later when the priest made his first public appearance after what happened. Last Sunday, Father Ángel decided that he could not miss the Nuevo Futuro Solidarity Rake, and he did not hesitate to offer his first words.

With the spirit of solidarity that characterizes him, the president of Messengers of Peace wanted to make it clear that “the important thing is to be here, in New Future”, despite stating that he has already recovered. He stated that these types of charitable causes “are an example that society is full of values”, as he has reported for Europa Press.

Although he couldn’t help but talk about what happened. “I appreciate the expressions of affection, but we must keep in mind that there are many who need affection,” she said. “The important thing in life is to love and one has proven it these days,” she added.

Likewise, he wanted to put on the table what, for him, has helped him in this situation: “I have many angels.” And if there is something that has moved her and made her recover sooner, it has been the signs of affection that she has received throughout the days.

And it is not the first time that Father Ángel suffers a setback in his health. “What hurt me the most is that I was going to leave this world with many things to do,” said the priest after overcoming colon cancer that he suffered more than ten years ago.
