The relentless pursuit of ever lighter weight has driven the development of every McLaren. Weight saving is in the DNA of the Woking manufacturer, and in its first convertible with a high-performance hybrid engine, this uncompromising philosophy has once again taken center stage. The result is the lightest vehicle in its class with a dry weight of 1,457 kilos, surpassing its rivals by up to 83 kg. The objective: not to compromise either its sporting dynamics or its daily driving.
To achieve this, the new Spyder incorporates significant improvements compared to the coupe, such as more power, more performance and a driving experience with greater driver involvement. These factors combined increase the sensory pleasures of open-air driving.
Thanks to its new one-piece retractable hardtop – which opens electrically in just 11 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h – higher intensity is achieved in all driving circumstances.
The sensations transmitted by the Artura Spider, especially with the roof or rear window folded, are amplified from the EV mode, circulating stealthily and fluidly on urban routes, to the most visceral and elemental emotion with the sound of the exhaust in crescendo when the full potential of its electrified mechanics is squeezed. This unique duality makes it a more complete, more balanced and more exciting supercar if possible.
Its advanced 3.0-liter V6 powertrain linked to the electric motor now produces a combined power of 700 HP (20 HP compared to the coupe), with a gasoline engine power of more than 200 HP/liter.
This gives it exciting levels of performance, with fierce acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, from 0 to 200 in 8.4, and from 0 to 300 in 21.6 seconds with a stratospheric top speed. of 330 km/h.
The Artura Spider, which can now be reserved for delivery starting in mid-2024, is sold in Spain starting at 274,350 euros for the series version.
There are three other interior specifications, each available for an additional 9,870 euros: Performance, which has a sportier aesthetic; TechLux, which focuses on technical luxury, and Vision, which showcases a more avant-garde look and feel.
