Five minors between the ages of 15 and 17 have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the group rape of a minor under 15 years of age in Dolores (Alicante), as sources from the Alicante Civil Guard have confirmed to EFE.
According to sources, the minors were arrested last Tuesday and yesterday they were placed at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office. As confirmed this morning by the vice president of the Consell, Susana Camarero, the five minors have already been admitted to their respective socio-educational centers.
In this regard, the Minister of Social Services, Equality and Housing, has explained that the objective of her department is not for them to spend a certain amount of time internally, “but rather for them to receive sexual education; either we teach them during the time they are with the Administration, or It is of little use to have them in a socio-educational center.
Camarero has also announced that the Generalitat Valenciana is studying the current protocols of these centers and has added that “a single action protocol will be established” so that these young people receive the necessary sexual education with the aim that these behaviors are not normalized or repeated. . “Minors are normalizing certain attitudes and there is a setback in equality,” said Camarero, who this Thursday presented, together with the Anar Foundation, the results of the latest report carried out by the entity on the evolution of violence against women in the childhood and adolescence.
The events occurred on November 10 in an open field near the Dolores sports center, according to the victim’s complaint, and the investigation carried out by the Minor Women’s Team of the Alicante Civil Guard has led to the five arrests.
Sources close to the investigation have indicated that the five minors have been arrested for an alleged crime of group sexual assault, since during it there was “fellatio and penetration”, and a mobile phone has been seized.
The five detainees are of Moroccan origin, although four of them have Spanish nationality, and two of them were part of the victim’s close circle.
