At the last municipal plenary session, the Esplugues de Llobregat City Council approved the highest budget in its history, the Consistory said in a statement this Thursday. The municipal accounts of this town of 46,414 inhabitants for the year 2024 exceed 66 million euros.

The budget has been approved with the favorable vote of 13 of the 21 councilors of the City Council governed by the PSC. Socialists and commoners have voted in favor, while ERC, PP, Junts and Vox have voted against.

The 2024 budget exceeds that of 2023 by 14.6 million, which is equivalent to an increase of 28.45%, the City Council has reported.

The investments amount to 12.6 million euros. A fact that “is largely explained by the sale of two properties in the new ARE Montesa urban development sector,” said the City Council. Specifically, 10 million come from this transaction.

With this money, works such as a new auditorium-theater or a new headquarters for the local police, among others, stand out. In addition, during 2024 the 4×100% project will continue, which aims to improve the public roads of all the streets of Esplugues throughout this mandate.
