The Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia 2024, which will be held on Saturday, February 10, will start from the facilities that the Primafrio transport company has in Alhama de Murcia and will have its finish line on Gran Vía Escultor Salzillo avenue in the city of Murcia and, therefore, On the other hand, work is being done to have two or three stages starting in 2025.

This was indicated in an event that the race organization held at the headquarters of its main sponsor and attended by Francisco Javier Sánchez, general director of Sports of the Autonomous Community; and Francisco Guzmán, general director of the event, the only international event that has been held in the Region uninterruptedly for four decades.

The forty-fourth edition of the Cycling Tour of the Region of Murcia Costa Cálida-Gran Premio Primafrio will consist of a route that will be around 200 kilometers starting in Alhama and arriving in the capital.

There is still plenty of time to outline the participation of the runners who will attend this event included in the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI), as well as the route, but Guzmán advanced some details.

“A kilometer up or down will be about 200 in a tough and demanding test, with the Marco Pantano summit in the Collado Bermejo as the main mountainous obstacle,” he stressed, while appreciating the support of Primafrio. “We will leave his facilities and it will be a tribute to the 60 years he has been working for the Region of Murcia,” he said.

For his part, Sánchez stressed that “the growth of the Tour of the Region with a second and even a third stage in the next four years will depend on the involvement of more companies.”

“We need more sponsors to take the step and with this, going hand in hand, we could show cycling in another aspect,” said the head of the sporting field at the regional level.
