The president of the PP will make this proposal to the executive committee that will take place on Thursday, according to PP sources, who underline the extensive political career of Miguel Tellado, always alongside Feijóo. Graduated in Political Science, the new spokesperson has been spokesperson for the PP in Galicia, regional deputy from 2012 to 2022, senator by regional appointment in the 14th legislature and is now a deputy in Congress.
According to PP sources, Feijóo has opted for the figure of Tellado because parliamentary life “will be very relevant in this legislature, the first in which the first party in Spain, the one that won the general elections on July 23, does not preside. the Government of the nation”.
Tellado was currently deputy secretary of organization, and in that position, which he assumed when Feijóo became president of the PP, a position in which he will be replaced by Carmen Fúnez, also of Feijóo’s greatest confidence, although she is not Galician, who was in charge of developing the municipal and regional program, and who was currently deputy secretary of social policies.
With extensive political experience in the Popular Party, where she has held positions of responsibility and has been a parliamentarian in the Senate, she will now assume the organization of the party, and will have among her main tasks the renewal of the presidency of the PP of Catalonia. She will also be, according to PP sources, in charge of “invigorating and improving the structure of the party both in Spain and abroad, as well as the training of the PP’s political assets, the improvement of the participation systems of members and the implementation of the electoral strategy throughout the territory”.
