Two arrested and 22 identified. That is the balance of the police operation deployed this past morning in Orduña after some incidents recorded at the exit of a leisure venue in the Biscayan town. Those arrested have been accused of crimes of attacking a law enforcement agent and two Ertzaintza agents have been injured requiring medical assistance.
As reported by the Basque Department of Security, the events occurred around 4:35 a.m. this Sunday when patrols from the Laudio police station went to a leisure area in Orduña following a call from an individual due to loud noise in a premises. Upon arrival, the officers were received “in a hostile manner, with insults and throwing objects”, so they had to request support from neighboring police stations to control the situation.
The detainees, two men aged 28 and 41, are accused of separate crimes of attacking a law enforcement agent. Likewise, 22 people have been identified and three have been proposed for sanction by the Organic Law for the Protection of Citizen Security.
In the course of the action, two agents were injured after being attacked, “both of their safety helmets having been torn off.” The agents have been treated at a health center, causing sick leave due to the injuries suffered. The detainees will be brought to judicial custody upon completion of the corresponding proceedings.
