The Colombian actress Laura Londoño (Medellin, 1988) was proclaimed the winner of MasterChef Celebrity 8 in a contested final with the rider Álvaro Muñoz Escassi. “It has been the greatest gift in a long time”, said the model, who confesses that before entering the program she had “no idea” about cooking.

The protagonist of Café con aroma de mujer admitted after the victory that it has been a few months of “never stopping studying and thinking only about cooking”, which has made her “open her eyes” to the sector, as well discover herself. “Before entering the program I had no idea about cooking. Now it’s a tool that I already use on a daily basis and I enjoy it, I also share it with my daughters, and I love it.”

For Londoño, reaching the final was “very important”, not only to prove his worth, but also because he felt the “need to represent” all the countries of Latin America. “I feel extremely honored that I was invited to participate in the Spanish program, and, in this way, I felt that I was the representative of Colombia, and of Latin countries in general, so that I also had to fight for them”, she says .

And that’s how, in that “tireless, hard, tremendous, with a lot of adrenaline, but beautiful” fight that lasted three months, Londoño won the champion’s trophy and, in this way, collected the testimony of Lorena Castell . “I was looking for Eldorado and I found it”, he assured after collecting the final prize. However, the road to victory has not been easy, with moments of “a lot of fatigue, both physically and mentally”, and “the desire to throw in the towel”.

“I came home every day crying and frustrated because I saw that the level of my colleagues was much higher, I demanded a lot from myself. Now, when I’ve followed him on TV, I’ve realized that he actually knew how to do things, but when you’re under so much pressure, you want to give up many times,” he said.

Despite the fact that she entered MasterChef Celebrity 8 with little contact with the kitchen, the evolution throughout the competition promised to reach the final, but what she herself doubted was whether she would get the trophy. All this, after a final dispute, in which Jordi Cruz himself pointed out that it was “one of the most even verdicts”, he obtained it.

“For me, the most important thing about having won is being able to donate these 75,000 euros to the foundation that helps against malnutrition in Colombia. Also to share it with all the people who have helped and supported me during the complicated and difficult process, from family members to kitchen professionals”, he explained.
