Today is an exciting day as the 92nd 24 Hours of Le Mans, the fourth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, is set to begin at 4:00 PM! The official starter, Zinedine Zidane, will kick off the race by waving the French flag. This will mark the start of a thrilling 24-hour race with top competitors such as Ferrari, Toyota, Porsche, Cadillac, Peugeot, Alpine, Lamborghini, BMW, and Isotta Fraschini all competing for the prestigious win.
Before the official start at 4:00 PM, there will be a series of rituals to build anticipation. The cars will line up diagonally, a helicopter will deliver the French flag, and the French national anthem, Marseillaise, will be sung by the crowd. Additionally, the Patrouille de France aerobatics team will perform a flypast. The moment when the race director signals the start of the race and releases the 62 cars will be filled with adrenaline as the competitors begin their intense 24-hour battle.
Prior to the race, there will be a Warm-up session where the cars will have a final track session to ensure they are ready for the race. During this 15-minute practice, the cars will be adjusted to match the day’s weather conditions.
The second Road to Le Mans race, a part of the 2024 Michelin Le Mans Cup, will take place from 10:00 to 10:55. This support race is reserved for LMP3 and GT3 cars and is the third of six rounds in the championship.
In addition to the thrilling races, there will be concerts by No Money Kids and Simple Minds. Simple Minds, a renowned band with a successful musical career since 1979, will be performing as part of their Global Tour 2024. The concerts will provide entertainment for spectators throughout the day.
