English football fans are showing just how far they are willing to go to support their team in the Euros final. According to a recent poll of 1,000 fans, a significant quarter of supporters would spend nearly £1,500 to travel to Berlin if the Three Lions make it to the final match.

With years of waiting and hoping for a historic moment, 44 per cent of fans do not want to miss the opportunity to witness an England triumph. As flight prices to Germany fluctuate, 30 per cent of fans are considering alternative travel options to save on costs. Some are even thinking about flying to a neighboring country and then driving to Germany to cut down on expenses.

The research conducted by Skyscanner also sheds light on potential cost-saving strategies for fans. For example, flying from London to Luxembourg and then driving to Germany could save fans up to £278 compared to a direct flight. Similarly, catching a flight from Manchester to Amsterdam and hiring a car for the journey to Cologne for England’s final group match against Slovenia could be over two and a half times cheaper than a direct flight.

Laura Lindsay from Skyscanner emphasizes the importance of comparing travel options to find the best deals, especially for those eager to follow the Euros action in Germany. The study also reveals that a significant portion of fans are open to different travel arrangements, with 33 per cent willing to travel to Germany to support their team and a quarter ready to drive all the way there.

Interestingly, 42 per cent of fans would consider renting and sharing a car with friends to reach their destination, showcasing their dedication to be part of the Euros final experience. Even if their team is not playing, 22 per cent of fans still express interest in traveling to the final match, highlighting the appeal of the atmosphere in Germany compared to their local areas.
