Dave Ildefonso has recently signed with Strong Group-Pilipinas for the upcoming 43rd Jones Cup tournament in Taipei, Taiwan. Coming off his experience in the Korean Basketball League, where he played 44 games with Suwon KT, Ildefonso is looking forward to representing the Philippines and helping his team secure a championship win.

One of Ildefonso’s main motivations for joining Strong Group-Pilipinas is the opportunity to play alongside his former Ateneo teammate, Ange Kouame. The duo had a successful run together during their time at Ateneo de Manila University, and Ildefonso is excited to reunite with Kouame on the court.

Moreover, Ildefonso will be working under the guidance of head coach Charles Tiu, who previously coached him during the FIBA Under-19 World Cup and the Dubai International Basketball Tournament. Tiu expressed his admiration for Ildefonso’s skills and is eager to see how he has developed since his time abroad.

With Ildefonso’s addition to the team, Strong Group-Pilipinas now boasts a formidable lineup that includes talented players like Kiefer Ravena, Rhenz Abando, Jordan Heading, and RJ Abarrientos. The team also features experienced players such as Chris McCollough, Caelan Tiongson, DJ Fenner, and Tajuan Agee, along with promising young talents like Jonathan Manalili, Allen Liwag, and Tony Ynot.

Ildefonso’s goal is clear – to contribute to his team’s success and make his country proud on the international stage. As he prepares to compete in the Jones Cup, he is determined to give his best performance and showcase his growth as a player. The tournament will not only be a test of skill for Ildefonso and his teammates but also an opportunity for them to represent the Philippines with pride and determination.
